"Yen" on this screen is only a number inside this screen. It is not real money. It cannot be bought, cashed out, exchanged for prizes, or given to anyone.
About this game
Take on Ren or Mika at rock-paper-scissors. It will try to read the flow of your moves. Even when you think you are choosing at random, your moves can show habits. See whether you can avoid being read and win more rounds than you lose against Ren or Mika, AI programs that try to read them.
- Ren or Mika decides its move without seeing the move you make in that round. It only counts the flow of your earlier moves (your previous move, what you tend to play after a win or a loss, and so on).
- Ren and Mika are not people but AI (a program). Their faces are simple drawings made by us in code, not real persons. Each time you open the first screen, your opponent is picked at random: Ren or Mika. Both count the flow of your moves and try to read your next move (the reading and its strength are the same). It is a simple reading based only on counting and does not use any outside AI service. For the first few rounds it cannot read anything, so it plays at random.
- If your moves are truly random, Ren or Mika cannot read them. In that case wins, losses and ties each come out at roughly one third.
- Winning or losing only changes a number on the screen (shown as "yen"). No real money or prizes are gained or lost. There are no rankings or awards.
- This is not for people looking for real money or prizes.
- Your move history and your balance and history are stored on our server, linked to a cookie (a random number) in this browser. We do not ask for your name or email address. You can erase them with "Start over".
- To play, first press "Add to balance (free)".
- Each press adds 10,000 yen.
- Bet per round: 4,950 yen (half of your balance after the fee; fixed)
- Each round, a fee of 100 yen is deducted (whether you win, lose or tie). The deducted amount simply disappears; it is not income for us. No real money is charged.
- Win: +4,950 yen / Loss: -4,950 yen / Tie: your bet is unchanged (the fee is deducted separately in every case)
- When your balance is 1,000 yen or less, the run ends.
- "Add to balance (free)" can be pressed when your balance is 1,000 yen or less.
- What you add is added to whatever you have left (what is left is not erased). Adding is free, as many times as you like.
- There is no daily limit on rounds. If you feel you have been playing for a long time, please stop there.
- Each time you add to your balance, the same amount is added to Ren or Mika's balance. It then moves by the amount of the bet in each round (the fee does not go to Ren or Mika; it never goes below 0). This is also only a number on this screen, not real money.
- Press "Play 5 rounds in a row", "Play 10 rounds in a row", "Play 50 rounds in a row" or "Play 100 rounds in a row" and the server picks your moves at random and plays 5, 10, 50 or 100 rounds in a row. The usual rules (fee and bet) apply to each round. If your balance falls to 1,000 yen or less on the way, it stops there. Once pressed, it cannot be stopped partway. The bet is recalculated from your balance before each round, so the bets from round 2 onward are not known when you press. Because each round bets about half of your balance, the more rounds you choose, the more often it stops partway at 1,000 or less. In our own calculation (starting right after adding 10,000 yen, with wins, losses and ties each one in three), about 8% of 50-round runs and about 1% of 100-round runs reached the last round, and half of them stopped by round 16. Actual results may differ.
- "Yen" on this screen is only a number on this screen. We do not, and will not, exchange it for real money. This game is not meant to encourage betting real money. In Japan, gambling with real money is punishable by law.
- This game imitates betting. If you are under 18, please read this with a parent or guardian.
- Ren or Mika's win rate = rounds Ren or Mika won ÷ all rounds (ties included).
- Your win rate = rounds you won ÷ all rounds (ties included).
